Your body is paralyzed while you sleep is because the body prevent from acting out aspects of your dreams. then you enter a phrase called REM sleep. Rem is a rapid eye movement. During REM sleep the rest of your body is paralyzed. It shut down and your large muscle can't move. And also most of the dreams we remember happen during REM, as our brain has a higher activity during REM.
FACT:
1. When you are snoring, you are not dreaming.
2. Toddlers do not dream about themselves until around the age of 3. From the same age, children typically have many more nightmares than adults do until age 7 or 8.
3. If you are awakened out of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, you are more likely to remember your dream in a more vivid way than you would if you woke from a full night sleep.
Thanks for sharing. Was interesting to read. Did you also know that if you wake up during REM sleep, your mind can forget to exit the paralysis and you play out a nightmare in real life without being able to move. It doesn't happen a lot to me or most people though. Have you ever noticed the paralysis?
